How to keep baby cool in a Stroller?

Many new parents are not sure whether they should take their newborns out in extreme cold, i.e. temperatures around freezing point or below. Since the baby does not move, many fear that the baby will freeze in the stroller.

GET OUT IN THE FRESH AIR!

Basically, a newborn should not be exposed to temperatures around freezing point or below in the first few days. But if it is already a bit older, i.e. a few weeks old, you can go outside without any problems, even in the cold and snow. On the contrary – you should even go outside, because it is definitely good for both the child and the mother to get some fresh air. On the one hand, it strengthens the immune system and produces vitamin D; on the other hand, it offers a nice change from the indoor program.

HOWEVER, WITHOUT TAKING SOME PRECAUTIONS IN ADVANCE, THE HOUSE SHOULD NOT BE LEFT IN THE COLD. HERE ARE ELEVEN TIPS TO ENSURE THAT YOUR BABY DOES NOT FREEZE in STROLLER

1. WARM STROLLER

If the stroller is outside the door and then packs the baby in, he will probably be cold before the walk starts. Therefore, you should definitely preheat the stroller. With almost all strollers, the carrycot or carrycot can be removed from the frame. So if you can’t take the whole stroller with you, at least the carrycot or carrycot can. Basically, strollers with a baby bath are preferable in winter, because they are automatically better insulated and can also be insulated more easily. The cost of stroller is not too high it’s details are available on internet.
If you don’t even have the opportunity to take the pram or carrycot or carrycot with you into the warm, you may be able to help yourself with a hot water bottle, which you put in the pram instead of the baby some time beforehand, so that at least the bed is preheated.

2. ISOLATION OF THE STROLLER FROM BELOW

Additional insulation of the stroller from below also helps to prevent the cold. A sheepskin can be placed on the mattress in the stroller (but it is also essential to preheat it, i.e. keep it warm). Another good option is to cut either a Styrofoam sheet or a sleeping mat accordingly and then place it under the mattress in the stroller.

3. ONION LOOK FOR THE BABY

If you put on several simple clothes on top of each other, it warms you better than an extra thick ski suit. To do this, the baby should always be dressed one layer more than you are carrying yourself.

4. HEAT ESCAPES THROUGH THE HEAD

Since most of the body heat escapes through the head, great attention should be paid to headgear. This should be very warm and not slip so easily. Preferably with a ribbon so that you can fix it a bit. An additional hood on the jacket or ski suit cannot do any harm.

5. MITTENS

Gloves should also be worn if the arms are stuck in the footmuff of the stroller or hidden in the blanket

6. WIND AND WEATHER CREAM

To protect the exposed skin on the face, the wind and weather creams available in stores are best. They are particularly well tolerated and offer a good layer of protection against the cold on the skin.

7. WINTER FOOTMUFF

Once the baby is fully dressed, the foot or winter sack protects it from the cold. These are made of fleece, sheepskin or other warming materials.

8. NO METAL PARTS ON THE SKIN

Finally, it should be ensured that no metal parts – e.g. from a zipper – are lying directly on the baby’s skin. In the worst case, these could freeze onto the skin.

9. WHEN THE SUN IS SHINING

If the sun shines very strongly, the eyes should be protected from direct sunlight.

10. IS THE BABY HOT OR COLD?

There is a very simple trick to checking whether the baby is cold or warm, or whether it is dressed too warm and sweating. To do this, you just have to grab his neck. There you will immediately feel how the little one feels warm.
