Hello Everyone! Welcome to flash stock ROM. Today, I’m providing you the detailed post on finding out whether the device is rooted or not. Sit back and enjoy the post, feel free to drop any comments on queries if any.
Well, it’s pretty obvious that you would know whether your device is rooted or not. But, people often buy smartphones second hand and they might even fell into some trap saying it was never rooted. Rooting process has now been simplified in such a way that even a small kid with minimum knowledge can do that easily. So, I’m giving out a dedicated post today to check whether your device is rooted or not.
What’s this rooting of device?
Android, being an open source gives us an extended control on almost everything. We can have the Custom ROM installed and experience more features. You can manage all the applications including System apps which comes from manufacturer pre-installed, User interface, almost everything, you just have to name it. But, to experience all these features, you have to flash your device. Flashing the device is not a cake walk. But, the technology and its widespread have eased it out for sure.
No devices are rooted by default when it comes out from manufacturer. No companies encourage it as it gives control on system applications too! And adding to this is the security purpose.
Steps for finding out:
- When you root your device, an application called “Superuser” is installed which allows to use some commands. So, if you can see such an application in your device, then it does mean that the device you are checking for is already rooted.
- There is an application available in playstore which does your part of work. If you don’t want any load of checking it out. Then, just download the Root checker Basic application which can check your device on your behalf and can tell you whether the device is rooted or not.
- Installing a client on phone: There is client called “terminal” which is a text based window that can run the command and can be used to check whether the device is rooted or not. All you have to do is to open the command terminal, if you see “#”, then the device is already been rooted and is in Superuser mode. If it is in “$”, then it is not!
