Android is an open source and lets us have customization on almost everything. This is the reason for having such a huge users using Android OS on their devices. We can have the Custom ROM installed and experience more features. You can manage all the applications including System apps which comes from manufacturer pre-installed, User interface, almost everything, you just have to name it. But, to experience all these features, you have to flash your device. Flashing the device is not a cake walk. But, the technology and its widespread have eased it out for sure.

No devices are rooted by default when it comes out from manufacturer. No companies encourage it as it gives control on system applications too! And adding to this is the security purpose. LGUP tool helps in flashing KDZ,DZ and TOT files. But, LGUP uppercut tool has lots of supports.

It is a flashing tool to flash LG devices on windows smartphones. LGUP can’t identify the connected device which is quite frustrating. Luckily, XDA recognized contributor autoprime came up with a simple solution in the form of Uppercut tool. Just double-click the Uppercut tool and LGUP window will open with your device detected in it. Once your device is detected, you can simply browse to the firmware file and flash it on your device.


Prerequisites to run the LGUP tool:

  1. A PC with windows operating system with LG drivers installed.
  2. KDZ, DZ or TOT files to flash the device.
  3. LGUP 1.4 tool installed PC. – download it
  4. Device with chipsets MSM8996/8994/8992/8976/8952/8939/8937/8916/8909/8226.

Steps to use Uppercut Tool                                                                                                                                           

  1. Download and Install the LG USB drivers
  2. Connect the device to the computer.
  3. Download the upper cut tool zip file and extract it.
  4. Run uppercut.exe to invoke the LGUP tool on the PC.
  5. You can now flash the device and do the other things as needed.
